WHAT TO WEAR ?
CLOTHING
- Dress in layers. You’ll be standing on ice in a “cold room” for several hours. If you normally wear a hat outside, you’ll probably want to wear one here as well.
- Clothing should allow freedom of movement. You need to be able to squat and lunge.
- Lightweight gloves to keep your hands warm while still allowing you to feel the stone.
FOOTWEAR
- Clean shoes. Carry, “DO NOT WEAR” shoes in which you intend to curl.
- Athletic shoes are fine, but try to use the shoes that you don’t wear outside. If you’ve worn them outside, just make sure you clean them before you curl in them.
- Avoid shoes with eyelets or metal on top.
- If your feet tend to get cold, consider wearing two pairs of socks.
- The Club has a limited number of slip-on sliders and we provide duct tape for first time curlers.
All ages and experience levels welcome. A great aspect of the sport is that almost anyone can learn to play…and it’s a great amount of fun!
