Union Arena Community Center is a school building and is used throughout the year by the Woodstock Union High School and Middle School, and all at no cost to the school district. All expenses for maintenance, utilities, staffing and everything else is covered by Union Arena, Inc, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation that exists solely to maintain and manage Union Arena for the community. The Arena is designed to be self-supporting on an annual basis through its operating revenues, as it receives no tax money to offset operating costs. Along with user fees, programs, and events, Union Arena, Inc. greatly benefits from the generosity of many individuals and foundations throughout the year who contribute. The Arena was originally built solely through private donations, and thanks to a very generous gift in February of 2011 of over $200,000, the remaining debt on the construction of the Arena has now been retired. With a goal of keeping user fees as low as possible, and allowing the High School to use the Arena at no cost to the school, Union Arena will continue its fundraising outreach and welcomes your support in any form. If
you are interested in making a tax-deductable donation (Union Arena
is a 501(c)3) or another form of a gift, you may contact the Arena General
Manager Dan French, or the President, Ginny Eames. |
